Standards and Guidelines

Institutions of higher learning achieve accreditation from the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) by demonstrating that they meet the Council’s Standards for Accreditation and comply with its policies. The Standards for Accreditation state the criteria for institutional quality. In addition, the Council’s policies elucidate the Standards, relate to their application, and ensure that the Council is current with respect to changing circumstances in higher education and public expectations. The Council expects affiliated institutions to work towards improving their quality, increasing their effectiveness, and continually striving towards excellence. Its evaluative processes are designed to encourage such improvement. Download here a copy of Standards and guidelines for quality assurance
